Documents in Metis Smart Modeling
+
In this menu users can manage documents by linking new ones, deleting or editing already linked documents. In the main table are all the existing documents shown and structured into documents linked to offers and systems.
 +
The documents defined here in Smart Modeling are the documents to which Smart Quotes users will have access to. These documents can be assigned to both the Offer and System levels.

The following document types are available:
 +
 +
 +
{| class="wikitable centre" width="90%" style="border-collapse: separate; border-spacing: 0; border-width: 1px; border-style: solid; border-color: grey;"

 +
| width="80%" style="border-style: solid; border-color: grey; border-width: 0 0 1px 0" |
 +
When selecting crystal report the user must then choose which type of document they would like to generate, either a PDF, MS Word, or MS Excel document. A prepared template for the crystal report will then be used to generate the type of document selected.

 +
A Metis type document is selected when the user wishes to generate a file with information regarding Metis. The metis type document also uses a prepared template to generate the document.
 +
The template will define where the information taken from Metis will appear in the document
 +
once generated. Meaning that the template could define that certain information appear at the top left of the document or other information appear in a table, etc.
 +
 +
When selecting a Metis type document, notice that the "File Name" field has been replaced by the "Report Full Name" field.

Other files could be .txt files or .ppt files that the user wishes to generate. For those files, no content will be added before generating it.

'''Word with OLE links'''

 +
Word with OLE links is very much like a basic word document, however the user now has the option of embedding information within the document via OLE links. For example, the user requires the name of the project in their document.
 +
Using an OLE link such as [@MSQProjectName] the name of the project would then replace the OLE link and be embedded within the document.
 +
The information linked to these OLE links must be defined beforehand within Metis Smart Modeling for the OLE links to work properly.

 +
 +
Before anything else, the user must first use the version drop-down list and select the version in which they would like to manage documents for. The version that is at the top of drop-down list is the version in which the user is logged in to; the parent version.
 +
Any other versions that are found in the drop-down list are child versions of this parent version. For a child version to appear in the drop-down list, the child version must have been previously set as administrator free. If this is not the case, it will not show up in the drop-down list.
 +
 +
When selecting a child version from the drop-down list, a check-box appears to the right of the drop-down list which grants the user the option for the child version to use the same documents as the parent version, meaning that any documents from the child version will no longer be accessible when the check-box has been ticked; this applies both in Smart Modeling and Smart Quotes.
